Exploring how abortion laws and abortion facility access have impacted voter turnout over time in the United States

Background

On June 24, 2022 the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the constitutional right to abortion by reversing Roe v Wade. With a historic piece of legislation being overruled, abortion laws changed, allowing states to now outright ban abortion. The midterm election in 2022 was the first election to occur since this overturn. This website focuses on the change in abortion laws since the overturn as well as the influence this change in legislation has had on voter turnout rates.
